Australia overcame South Africa in a close three-match T20 series. After losing the first game, the Aussies did very well to recover and win the next two games. Here’s a look at the top performers in the series.

James Faulkner: The Aussie was the man of the series for his excellent all-round showing during the series. The left-arm seamer finished the series with six wickets at an average of 11.6 and an economy rate of 6.3. After going wicket-less in the first match, he claimed 3 for 25 and 3 for 28 in the next two games, both of which the Aussies won. He made 50 runs with the bat, 41 of those coming in the first match in which Australia struggled with the bat. Faulkner was unbeaten having faced 33 balls in the game.

Cameron White: Australia’s T20 specialist once again made an impact. Although he made only 66 runs during the series, he was unbeaten on two occasions, giving him an average of 66 at a strike rate of 122. White played the defining innings of the series. It was his unbeaten 41 from 34 balls, batting at number six that clinched the series for the Aussies. The knock from White came with Australia under extreme pressure, and featured four priceless fours and one six.

Cameron Boyce: Bowlers normally don’t make much of an impact in the series, but Boyce did reasonably well in that sense. His figures weren’t stand out. However, every time he came on to bowl, he made an impression on the series. He was the man of the match in the second game, in which he finished with splendid figures of 2 for 15. Boyce was among the wickets in the other two games as well, with figures of 1 for 31 and 1 for 26.

Rilee Rossouw: The South African was the joint top-scorer in the series with 94 runs from three knocks. He was the star of the show in the opening T20, with a stroke-filled 78 from 50 balls. Rossouw smashed seven fours and three sixes during his hour-long stay at the crease. Unfortunately for South Africa, he couldn’t fire in the other two games, and was dismissed for 12 and four respectively. His strike of 151 was most impressive though.

Quinton de Kock: The South African opener also finished the series with 94 runs from three games. He averaged 31.3 in the series at a strike rate of 138. de Kock made 46 from 39 balls in the opening encounter, and followed it up with a duck in the second match. In the final game of the series, de Kock made a wonderful 48 from 27 balls with five fours and two sixes. It wasn’t enough though as South Africa lost the match and, with it, the series.
